zip37
Any way to follow the Zips in this match?
bigzipguy
Their atheletic website has gametracker on the soccer page. I would guess the Zips website would pick it up today. Not sure .

RootforRoo44
no score at the half....akron isn't quite dictating play by any means but they are playing very aggressive and lead in shots 8-2. Also, MSU doesn't seem to have the speed to keep up so it's only a matter of time before someone breaks free.

johnnyzip84
East Lansing weather is 44 degrees currently, so I'd say Mattocks is settling my fears about his play in colder weather!

jem101
I saw this on bigsoccer.com and thought it was funny enough to pass along. Great win tonight. Go Zips! A win by Indiana over the weekend put paid to Akron's chances of retaining the Big Ten Men's Soccer title, which it captured in style last year, racking up a perfect 5-0-0 in league play. Akron was undone this year not on the field, but instead by the Big Ten's unique unbalanced scheduling rules, which allow teams to selectively avoid playing Akron. As such, Akron did not have sufficient points available to knock off this year's champ, Indiana, which padded its own results with a home win over Northwestern and a home draw with lowly Wisconsin. Tellingly, Akron would have been unable to make up the final gap to Indiana even if it had prevailed in September's controversial away match at Ohio State, which ended in a 2-2 draw in 2OT and is regarded by many as the greatest result in the history of OSU soccer. Compounding the injury of denying Akron its chance to compete for the Big Ten regular-season title, conference officials have declined to invite Akron to participate in the Big Ten Tournament, which begins November 11. 2010 Big Ten standings,* updated through games of Nov. 3: Team Record (Pts.) 1. Indiana 4-0-1 (13) 2. Akron 3-0-1 (10) 3. Michigan 3-2-0 (9) Ohio State 3-2-0 (9) 5. Penn State 2-2-1 (7) Northwestern 2-2-1 (7) 7. Michigan St. 2-4-0 (6) 8. Wisconsin 0-4-1 (1) *As per league rules, the records of the traditional Big Ten teams do not reflect results of games with Akron.
w00t
Great bounceback win after the CSU debacle. Away wins vs. RPI #s 3, 8, and 12 and an away tie with #14 keep us in the driver's seat for the top overall seed.
