UAZipster0305 Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 Does anyone know how much financial reward UA will receive for progressing through the NCAA Tournament? For football games and the NCAA basketball tournament, I know the incentives are potentially huge. Just wondering how soccer compares (if at all). Quote
ZachTheZip Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 None. Zero. The only tournament the NCAA pays out for is the basketball tournament. Football is paid for by corporate sponsors; the NCAA doesn't pay a dime into it. Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted December 10, 2010 Author Report Posted December 10, 2010 So UA doesn't receive any of the gate receipts from the three extra home games and has to pay out of it's own pocket for the team to travel to Santa Barbara? Quote
ZachTheZip Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 Travel is payed for. I don't think we get any of the gate, though. Instead, the NCAA forces the participating schools to buy an allotment of tickets at a discount. It's up to the individual schools to sell those to the fans and recoup some money. Quote
zip37 Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 Sounds like a government bureauracy! Wait!!! It is a slow moving, bureauracy, that let's coaches [Calipari, Pearl, etc] skate and punish the institution. Quote
