RootforRoo44 Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 The Akron Hockey team will host Kutztown tonight at Center Ice Arena in north canton for all interested. Puck drops at 10 p.m. and students get in free with UA ID. They're having a rough year but they've been pulling in capacity crowds (around 700 people) each home game. They have a DJ on hand, open skate after, and it's dollar dog night tonight. It's a great time if you haven't been there. Quote
Spin Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 They're also raffling off an autographed Rick Nash portrait, and I've heard rumors the AK Rowdies will be in attendance. If so, watching them torment the opposing goalies is worth the price of admission in itself. This is the only home game in December. Quote

The only AK Rowdies i for sure know are going number from 10-15...plenty to be offensive, but i wish there was more support from them. Heck, 700 people show up most games and not many are Rowdies, it's odd. Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted December 4, 2011 Author Report Posted December 4, 2011 btw...Akron hockey won 7-6 in a thriller last night. The game had dozens of penalty minutes, 5 serious fist throwing fights, one MASSIVE beatdown by an Akron defenseman on a Golden Bears player, and an amazing two goals in two seconds midway through the second period. Greg Revak had a hat trick and the game winner late in the third. Great game and GREAT turnout by Rowdies/students...their goalie was hearing "worst goalie in the world" chants and getting lots of harassment all night. Quote
