GJGood
Did I read somewhere that the winner of tonight's game in Evanston will play their second round game on Thursday? That is terrible. Why would the NIT want teams playing twice in a little more than 48 hours and be doing so at the same time as the NCAA tournament's first full day? For a team like the Zips which would likely have to play both their first two NIT games on the road (and the second likely all the way across the country) this is just brutal. It reminds me of the year we beat Temple in Philadelphia in the NIT and played Creighton in Omaha 48 hours later and the team looked exhausted. of course that year Creighton had something like 8 days off leading up to the game, so I guess that is a little better this time around. Always been that way. 2nd round games are March 15-19, so not sure it would necessarily be the 15th, but it could be. If we can survive the first 2 rounds, I think there is a chance at a home game in round 3. Iowa and LSU could beat Dayton and Oregon, respectively. Leaving us as the best seed left at #5. Fun to think about as a fan, but hopefully the players are focuse on tonight.
akronad
I read this morning, if Washington wins and the Zips win, the Zips will not return to Akron, but will fly toWashington to play on Thursday.
