FearTheRoo Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Guess it shows you that Toledo really was playing above their means. We sucked it up Friday. It really didn't have anything to do with the better team winning. In the end, all is almost right. Akron lives to play another day and Toledo goes home. It's not the NCAA, but they are still playing! Quote
liljc Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 So much for finishing strong. Toledo wins 10 out of 11 to end the year with 20 wins and it wasn't enough. I bet nobody wanted to look at that stupid Rocket-man-thing anymore. Quote
zipper Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 And the regular season COUNTS. Go Zips! I'm actually happy right now. This is a great thing for our program, and even though we stunk last week we live to see another day. Quote
msopher Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 You mean you would rather play in the NIT than a shot at a MAC crown and automatic NCAA bid? Especially since a month ago, nobody saw Toledo doing what they did. I'm proud of this team and an NIT bid would be nice but we've been there recently and its not that much of a accomplishment. Quote
FearTheRoo Posted March 14, 2006 Author Report Posted March 14, 2006 Now there you go again! For one day you actually made intelligent posts, but you are back to your usuall ignorant self! Careful, sounds like you might be haning out with A$$holio!!Any moron who argues that they would rather clean out their locker than play at least one more game is stupid. Obviously the Big Dance is more desireable, but playing is more desireable than looking forward to Pocket Rocket Football!! Quote
msopher Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 What's wrong with my post? I said sure the NIT is nice but it means little. Plus, Toledo has played in the NIT recently and the only good thing was that it was on ESPN. Again, I'll take a MAC championship title game over an NIT bid any time. Quote
FearTheRoo Posted March 14, 2006 Author Report Posted March 14, 2006 If that appearance in the MAC Championship was so important, how come it didn't get you the recognition to at least get into the NIT?? Quote
msopher Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 If that appearance in the MAC Championship was so important, how come it didn't get you the recognition to at least get into the NIT?? Ask the selection committee on that one. Quote
Chrisj0384 Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 I have to agree, I would rather have seen the Zips make the championship game than this game that nobody even cares about. People would have been wayyyy more excited to see Akron vs. Can't in the Mac championship than Akron vs. Temple. Its not even on TV, it barely even matters. Quote
ToledoRockets Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 If that appearance in the MAC Championship was so important, how come it didn't get you the recognition to at least get into the NIT?? It also appears that your tainted MAC Championship in football doesn't mean too much since you got zero votes in the national poll and Toledo ended the season ranked #26. Quote
UADavid Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 It also appears that your tainted MAC Championship in football doesn't mean too much since you got zero votes in the national poll and Toledo ended the season ranked #26Tainted? You are an idiot. We beat a team twice that you couldn't beat once. Next to last game of the year, all Toledo needs to do is beat N. Illinois and they play in the MAC championship game. The game was in Toledo and wasn't even close. You finished 26th and we beat the team you couldn't twice. We are :macc: . Whine away toledosuckit, those are the facts! Quote
