Each of its previous three appearances (1986 NCAA, 1987 NIT, 1989 NIT) came with Bob Huggins as coach.-Akron's top two scorers, Dru Joyce and Romeo Travis, were high school teammates of LeBron James at St. Vincent-St. Mary HS in Akron. Head coach Keith Dambrot coached St. Vincent-St. Mary's to two state titles, including James' freshman year.-Akron owns an 18-game home winning streak.
