w00t Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Joe Lunardi has released his 2007 preliminary edition of Bracketology. I don't agree with a lot of the stuff he put up there, but he's got the MAC earning two bids next year. Akron as a #11 and Can't?!?! as a #12. Aren't the Portage County Pansies supposed to be really lousy next year? Who do they have that's going to get them an at-large bid into the tournament? (I would replace them with the Bobcats personally).Nice to see some Akron love, even if you think Joe Lunardi is a cocky son of a gun. Quote
Balki Bartokomous Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Its not like Can't is going to fall of the face of the earth next year. They will be good, but not NCAA tournament good, or even NIT good. Akron will win at least 26 games next year. shit, we go on a tournament run, 30 wins. Quote
zen Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 It seems like a lot of people nationally have had the whole "Lebron's HS teammates are seniors this year" thing register in their mind.... For better or for worse. Quote
zip37 Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 As for Can't State being rated a #12, you've got to remember that they have a little HISTORY, since the days of G. Waters (who, by the way is in as coach at CLE State for those of you are not locals and do not have to read the Broken Urnal).WBALAL :macc: Quote
w00t Posted April 6, 2006 Author Report Posted April 6, 2006 Yeah, but isn't history just that? This is a prediction... and when you return a mere 28 points and 14 rebounds a game in what is traditionally a one-bid conference and lose two scholarships because your athletic teams' academic standards are non-existent, I don't see it happening. Heck, I HOPE it doesn't happen, this is Can't we're talking about, I hope they lose every game next year. Quote

Valpo Zip Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Can't won't be horrible next year. I know that they have 4 graduating seniors but they have a 7 footer freshman and armon gates and omni smith returning.Don't get me wrong ! We will beat them but they will not be horrible. Quote
zipsbandman Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 I regretfully say that they will be good next year and will challenge us. They were not even supposed to do much this year and look what happened. All they do every year is reload. There is some great talent on that basketball team. Quote
gozips19 Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Can't has done a really good job of developing the talent they have each year... i don't think they will be as good next year but gates and smith will be a force... looking ahead to akron we really can only get better with the additions of wood and conyers.. we can't count on the freshmen coming in but if they can give the returning players a little bit of time off the sky's the limit!GO ZIPS! zip37 Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 7ft is just that-- i remember some 7 footers we've had & they werent much, hopefully Can'ts 7 footer will/is one of them. Quote
