MRasor0200 Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 If you didn't know better, you'd think it was a fall issue of the Buchtelite. All football. All the time. Here are some good stories on Dennis Kennedy and Jabari Arthur.Kennedy - http://www.buchtelite.com/2006/0418/sports_01.shtmlArthur - http://www.buchtelite.com/2006/0418/sports_03.shtmlBy the way, good work Captain Kangaroo on keeping us updated on Steve McNees and Lance Jeter.blogs.ohio.com/rasor Quote
msopher Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 I laughed so hard reading the Buchtelite today. Somebody called Biggs "one of the premier backs in the nation?" He's a decent back, and maybe one the better ones in the conference, but come on! I mean, he's not even considered as an NFL draft pick. Also, Rasor guaranteeing a return trip to Detroit is rather Sure, Akron returns a solid team, but nothing is for sure in the MAC.Come on Zip writers. At least the ones in Toledo show some objectivity! Quote

zipsbandman Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Actually, I would be very suprised if this team was not better than this year's squad. Biggs was a big loss for us, but I think the guys behind him are going to be even better. Kennedy is a big time back. Getsy should be much much improved and hopefully the growing pains are gone with him. The o-line will be the best yet and will continue to be a strength for this team. It's all won in the trenches remember. The defense is going to be faster than what we've ever seen, and the secondary is stacked. We do need more depth on the d-line though. Overall, I like what Fleming has done with this group. I think we have one of the best coaching staffs in the MAC, and they are finally starting to get some weapons on the field. Nothing is guaranteed though as the MAC can be unpredictable and factors such as injuries come into play, but there is no reason for this team to shoot for anything less than the MAC championship game and a bowl. zipseuph Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 I must say that the Akron football team is up and coming and with J.D at the helm the sky is the limit. with all of the progress we have been making I see no reason why Akron and many other MAC schools will not be able to compete with Big Ten schools. But then again I am just a little biast. :macc: Quote
