I don'y know how many students are going home for the weekend because the University is observing the holiday on Tuesday not Monday.

There is no "Official Rowdies" requirement anymore. I was down there in the floor seats last night and it was pretty sad. I, once again blame the Rowdies leaders. They aren't doing anything more than sending e-mails reminding students when there is a game. Need more interaction.

Thanks for the update about the Rowdies. But, isn't just the fact that there is a home game enough to get more than 12 students out of 25,000 into those courtside seats?

I'll say this again. Back in the mid-80s we would have fought each other over seats like that.

And I hope I never again hear "we'll come if they win" as the excuse for why Akron students don't go to football games, because we now know that winning isn't the variable.

I will say last year when they were on the winning streak, students were showing up at record levels from what I remember. It's certainly easier to market students coming to games (note most students are STILL commuters) when you're on a 10+ game winning streak...
