An outstanding campaign for the University of Akron men's soccer team came to a close on Friday, Dec. 11, as Stanford (17-2-3) bested the Zips (18-3-3) in penalty kicks, 8-7, in the second semifinal of the College Cup at Sporting Park to advance to the national title game after the two sides battled for 110 minutes en route to a 0-0 double-overtime draw.
