zff
This is part of an artcle on bucknuts.com. The way I read it the Zips will be on ESPN two times next season!!!!! The Sept. 4 season opener with Cincinnati will begin at noon and will be televised by ESPN-Plus Regional Television. A Cincinnati newspaper had previously reported that game would be shown on ESPN. Instead, ESPN will show Akron at Penn State at noon that day. The UC-OSU game will likely only be shown on ESPN-Plus outlets in and around Ohio, but would also be available via the ESPN Game Plan package. ESPN/ESPN2 2004 College TV Schedule Hey Ratfink... gues you better tell Penn State fans too... JoPa will be so disappointed... This is from their message board... Big Ten and Staff Reports The Big Ten announced its media partners (ABC Sports, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Regional Television) selection of 23 Big Ten home football games they will broadcast nationally, regionally or locally during the 2004 season. In addition, the Conference said that no fewer than nine non-conference games where the Big Ten is the visiting team would also be televised. Other television selections will be made by the networks during the fall. For Penn State, it’s opener against Akron on Sept. 4 at Beaver Stadium will kick off at noon on ESPN. The Lions also host UCF Sept. 18 at noon on ESPN Regional and the following week travel to Wisconsin for a 5:45 or 6 p.m. kickoff on ESPN or ESPN2. The Lions Oct. 9 matchup with Purdue at Beaver Stadium kicks off at 4:30 p.m. on ESPN. Additionally, note that Penn State is scheduled to play at Minnesota on Oct. 2. However, at 11:10 a.m. (CT) that day the Minnesota Twins have a home game at the Metrodome. That means the Penn State-Minnesota game will be played at night or on a weekday night. RatFink
Well, well, old "dumb ass" Finkster did a little research. Guess what? You air heads are still smoking rope. True the Bigten.org site shows a composite schedule of all Big Ten teams (I printed it). And, true it shows that the PSU/Akron game is on ESPN. Butt, butt, butt, the OFFICIAL PSU athletics web site refutes that claim. PSU is showing two nationally televised games (Purdue and Wisconsin) and one regional game on ESPN+ against UCF. No mention any where of the PSU/Akron game being "nationally" televised. Seems like a lot of wishful thinking. The only web site that really matters is ESPN's. Thus far it does not list the PSU/Akron game. Be patient. Good things come to those who wait. Do the deal, Charley.
