UAZipster0305 Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 A small consolation that we won the fan vote:http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/foo...-the-week_x.htm"Ohio State linebacker James Laurinaitis was the ring leader of an impressive defensive showing against No. 2 Texas to earn this week's USA TODAY's Player of the Week honor. The sophomore had a game-high 13 tackles, forced two fumbles and intercepted one pass as the top-ranked Buckeyes won 24-7 in Austin. Laurinitis was selected for the award by Gannett News Service columnist Mike Lopresti and college football editor Erick Smith. Fan voting sided with Akron running back Dennis Kennedy." Quote
GoZips Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Fifteen after twelve and the voting continues.Kennedy had a clear lead at noon the supposed ending time.Guess they keep voting until they get the guy they want in front.Does it really matter? All this fan voting is worth one vote. The two staff sports writers have 2/3 of the total say. My guess is that OverSizedMega State U playerJames Laurinaitis will "win" the selection.Honestly, he had a great game against a formidable opponent. But, then, too,he is expected to have great games. He plays for the Overdog.Crickey ... no shi'ite Jackson. This was a slam dunk from the get go.In the world of sports, morons lap dogging the overdogs always suck up to the"champions". Part of why here in Ohio OSphew has such a huge following.Great pro Zips article in today's ABJ by Terry Pluto. We need lots more of this. Its time to concentrate on Central Michigan. CMU is an excellent team and at home. All too often they have "owned" the Zips in the past. Quote
