sgm405
1) Does Akron stand a realistic chance of winning the MAC East anymore? 2) Does Akron have a realistic shot at a bowl game anymore? 3) What does this do to the fan base for the rest of the season? 4) Is Can't now the odds-on favorite to win the East?5) (New) Final predictions on the Zips finish this year? zipsbandman
The outlook is grim. Akron will not make 15k at all. Who knows what the NCAA will do with us if we don't continue to kill ourselves. We pretty much have to win out to stand a realistic chance. Can't will probably win the east and go bowling. I hate Can't, and I hate that they will see the postseason a year after we did. We need to show some form of life or recruiting is going to suffer. Zipsrifle
What now.... Prepare for the next game like it's the biggest game of the year....because it is. Your next game is always the biggest game of the year. Finish out the rest of the year strong.
urbanpreppie05
1. Yes. Stranger things have happened...remember you're talking about a team that lost to Army at HOME last year and ended up winning it all. 2. Maybe...aren't four MAC teams eligible for bids this year?3. Sigh...let me be blunt. Although Akron is finally moving out of the dregs to become a major market University in all facets, the Community and Student support is NOT going to be to where we can average 15K per game. There is too much of the following things,,,-bigger, more established/recognizable teams..you have the Browns, Steelers and OSU. -apathy...The students that come to Akron, many of them have NO sense of supporting their school at all because they couldn't go to a "real school" (now before you bash me, this is what I experienced firsthand) 4. Yep. Be prepared for a LOT of Can't supporting, probably more than when we started doing well last year. 5. I won't make one, because as we can see, anything can happen! :-)

zipseuph
fact of the matter is we are still the defending MAC Champs. I don't care what happened today, I was there I saw it and it sucked. we need to get that hunger back and we need the fans to be there. this is when the fans true test will come. yes we lost to Can't and yes ot sucked but this is the time that our team needs us the most so lets back them up! RACER
the answer to the first question is no.we are 0-2 Can't is 3-0. Can't has five mac games left. they could lose two five ,and still win the mac. we have six mac games left. if we go 5-1 Can't could lose three, of the five and still win it. with the teams they have left in the mac; i dont see it happening. it would still be nice to beat the tarr out of miami, and bg though.also to go 3-1 in out of conference games would still be a good accomplishment for any mac team.
