Balki Bartokomous
Just when you think this season was as bad as it got. Zips' kicker, Igor Iveljic, was charged with assult and is now suspended indefinitely. http://blogs.ohio.com/rasor/somebody just pull the plug on this season and get the basketball team on the court. liljc
Igor's season just got worse. Good thing he wasn't playing anyway! Lemme get this straight. He has a broken neck/back, so he can't play football. But he can fight, and pretty well, I guess since he's charged with assault.
Ryno aka Menace
Maybe he is pissed he is hurt? Maybe he is pissed he is losing his position to a walk-on? Maybe he feels guilty that if he was playing our team could kick some field goals instead of going for it on 4th down, which in turn could have changed the outcome of every game except Can't? Who knows why he has all this built up agression?
Ballingirl
In Igor's defense, the fight was deserved. Here's the situation. The guy came up and punched Igor in the back of the head and then ran and locked himself in his room. Igor saw the kid the next day and let him have it. Now, I know that everyone will say "he should be the bigger man and walk away and let it go." But I know if someone is a big enough puss to hit you from behind then run and hide, he deserves what he has coming. And then to press charges when it happens? This kid needs the true crap beat out of him. At least be man enough to come at his face and except the consequences.
w00t
Assuming Ballingirl's story is completely factual, I can't say that I blame Igor for pounding the guy either. Hopefully things will work out for him.
AZipsCrazy
I'll back that story up. Friend on the team said the same thing. What a douche bag... who sucker punches a kid then expects no retaliation, don't take that shit to the physical level if you don't want someone to get physical with you.As well the kid is alot bigger than Igor from what I heard. He probably thought Igor wouldn't have the balls to fight him, haha, sorely mistaken I guess (no pun intended). I've got Igor's back, hell if he kicks like I hear he can when he's healthy and back on the team I just might rock his jersey next year just for being such a badass. #45 the Zips resident "Bosnian Badass"
KeeprOFtheHous
Whether or not someone is a "pussy" and hits you from behind, yes the natural reaction is to retaliate, but in todays sociaety you can not do that, not only will Igor be indeff. suspended from the zips he will be exoelled from the univ. possibley sued in a civil suit. and miss out on all he had to offer. best shot for him, go to mahoning valley and play for the Hitmen. I wish him well but regarless of others negilgence and lack of a pair, retaliation this day in society does not go un punished, he will experience this first hand
KentZip
Seems to me, even if he did retaliate, it wouldn't stop him from turning right around and filing an assault charge on the other student. It is the kind of thing that might make the other guy think twice about pressing charges.
zippyrifle32
well he's in trouble, but i don't think he'll get expelled from the university. something will be worked out i'm sure.

I wonder why he doesn't file an assult charge himself.
fear the brown roo
that punk who hit igor is damned lucky that alleman or wills didn't get to him first before igor did.
you am i
without knowing the facts of the case other than what's on this board, if this is igor's first offense and its a misdemeanor assault charge, and there was no significant injury inflicted on the other guy, the case could end up being dismissed with upon completion of some type of anger management counseling and payment of medical bills, if there were any.its hard to imagine him being kicked out of of school or dropped from the team over a misdemeanor. felony assault would be another matter.a civil case would be unlikely unless the other guy incurred signifciant injury. no lawyer would want the case. its good to see that jd took immediate action. it sends a message. unlike what has happened at ou, where an entirely different message has been given to their players.
