Susan Blauser joins coaching staff

This is a significant gain for Kelly Kennedy's squad. The former Illini all-Big Ten player (and BE ROY at Rutgers) brings big-time recognition to the program, and will aid both in recruiting and in coaching of the post players.

Do we know how we managed to have a vacancy? Is Lanier or Dugan gone?

Overall, it re-signals the seriousness of the program to lay the groundwork for success. Now, 2004-05 must be a year of increased victories, where climbing close to the .500 mark in MAC play should be a goal.

I agree this is a big time hire - read it on gozips.com and was pretty impressed. This is such a slow process but they really were in the dregs before KK got here. I get to a ladies game or two every year (last year hit three I think) and have been impressed with the improvement, even though it hasn't transferred into a huge W-L difference yet.

If you guys haven't been to a women's bb game yet you ought to try it. It was included in the season tickets this year. Of course the crowd is smaller but the Zips play with great intensity. Fun to watch, easy parking, and I'd think easier to take kids to.
