skip-zip Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Man, I don't want to play Can't in the semis. I'm still hoping we can get that #1 seed to avoid that. If not, could we really be that bad off if we get the #4? We know we can beat Toledo on a neutral court in the semis. Just some food for thought. Quote

Our bracket looked like cake until we would have played Can't in the finals. We all remember how that turned out. If we were to go in at #4, that means we've been playing mediocre ball for the last two weeks of the season! Play your ass off, gather your momentum and start kicking ass and taking names! skip-zip Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 BleacherBum...you're right. We felt as if we were in the easy bracket last year also. If I remember correctly, we were the #3 seed, who was lucky enough to get into the same bracket with the #2, which would have been the weak MAC West champ. But then #7 Toledo knocked off that #2 seed in the quarterfinal. How much more could we have asked for? And it still didn't work out. It's certainly more important to be playing well at the end of the season than it is to be concerned about when you play certain teams. If we do end up with that #4 seed, it probably meant that we lost both the Miami game and the Can't game on the road, and we certainly don't want that to happen. But if that happened, it might end up like this...#1 Toledo#2 Can't#3 Miami#4 AkronIt does create a more favorable semi-final pairing for us. And if Ohio gets the #5, we'd play Bubba and the Cats again in the quarterfinals? Quote
BZip_08 Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Anyone who has watched MAC teams play knows that anyone can win. Momentum is key, but no matter where UA is seeded it's going to be tough. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 I honestly don't care who we play. If we can get some more momentum going, the team should be unstoppable by tournament time. I already feel that no one in the MAC can beat us on a neutral/semi-neutral court like at "the Q". As long as we can that first-round bye, there should be nothing stopping us from winning it all. I like the first and possible second round matchups! And the location couldn't be much better either. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Playing at Buffalo would be awesome! If it happens, the University should try to get as many bus-loads of crazy fans there as possible. Quote
skip-zip Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Guys. This would be awesome!! I was a student back in 1986 when we last went to the BIG tournament. Watching that first-round game, with Akron in it, is an even better feeling than playing in a bowl game in football last year. Trust me. Quote
Bleacher Bum Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Hey folks! Don't forget that if we do end up playing in Buffalo, the Seneca Niagara Casino is only 20 minutes from there! Quote
