zip81
It's official. BG is staying in the East...according to a Temple Football news release issued today."After being an affiliate member of the MAC for the past two seasons, 2007 marks Temple's initial campaign as a full conference member. The Owls will play in the MAC East Division with Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Can't State, Miami and Ohio. Under the leadership of second-year head coach Al Golden, Temple will play eight league foes in 2007, including four at home, in what will be their 109th season of football."To read entire news release:http://owlsports.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/.../022607aaa.html
Z.I.P.
"Temple, with just two scholarship seniors on it's 2006 roster..."Good grief! What happened to THAT recruiting class?
blueandgold
It's too bad that their basketball program is staying in the A10 though. I would like to have them in the MAC also. They have been a much better basketball program than football.

you am i
speaking as a fan, temple in the mac makes makes no sense. i thought the same thing about central florida. it makes the conference look bad to take in programs who have nowhere else to go.the mac should have required football and basketball from temple, or nothing. Zip99
I never understood why Bowling Green is in the East and Toledo is in the west. I know that they want the conferences to be even, but it is still stupid.
gozips19
does any one have an idea as to how the conference schedule will play out with temple in the east?
timmyboy
I think that the MAC should have also required them to join with basketball also. Its dumb that they allowed them to for football only, because now that they are in the East...it is screwing everyone else's schedule up. BG had to break a contract with Boise State so they could open up a week for Temple. and that in turn is going to screw the MAC teams because more teams are going to be reluctant to sign them for fear they will break another contract........ But the MAC schools arent the only ones breaking contracts. Look at NC and Indiana. NC was supposed to come to akron for a home and home since akron went there last year.... and Indiana was supposed to come here to play but cry babied their way out of it, so we now have to travel to them..... leaving us with ONLY 4 home games! Hey Mr Rhodes... how bout you get us more home games, so that we can meet that NCAA requirement and not have to be bumped down to division 1AA! and as always....
