Buckzip Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 I am exchanging posts with a father of a kid that is interested in OSU on an OSU board. He is a WR from Dublin. He is a really good talent, but OSU has few scholarships, and probably doesn't have room for more than 2 receivers. I am getting him pretty interested in UA. It's pretty fun doing this. Hopefully his dad will talk to him about looking at UA. He sounds very positive about UA. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Is he in the class of '07 or '08?P.S. Which OSU board are you talking about? Quote
Buckzip Posted March 2, 2007 Author Report Posted March 2, 2007 08. It's the old Bucknuts. The OSU scout board. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 08. It's the old Bucknuts. The OSU scout board. Ah. Thanks. Keep up the good work. It would be awesome if you could persuade recruits away from OSU to come play at Akron. Quote

zip37 Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Are you sure it's legal to do that, keeping up w/NCAA regs is like keeping up w/ the IRS. Quote
zff Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 You can talk to the parents or high scholl coaches but not the student athlete. And no money or gifts of anykind can be given to anybody. Quote
Buckzip Posted March 2, 2007 Author Report Posted March 2, 2007 We are conversing on an internet board. I am not offering him things, and I am not a representative of UA.We are merely chatting, and I asked him to check out Akron. That is all. Quote
Zipgrad01 Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Are you talking about Jake Stoneburner? If so...that kid is going to be a Rivals top250 player. He ALREADY has offers from Ohio State, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Penn State and West Virginia. As much as I would like to see it happen I think it is pretty safe to say that it won't.
