Zip Watcher Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 No one's posted this yet and it's been on my mind for a few weeks.Props to Scott Taylor for a fine job on the radio this season. Over the past few weeks, he's really gotten his legs underneath him as a wingman for Frenchie. Early on, I think Scott was slow to point out the things the Zips were struggling with, but of late he's been concise & lucid with his commentary during both good and bad stretches of Zips hoops. As a guy who is close to the program in several regards, he may feel he's in a tough spot where it comes to critiquing the play of the Zips. I think he's found a nice sweet spot lately and has added to the road broadcasts (when they've been on the air).I think it's time that they play up the fact that the guy is a former player (letter winner) for the Zips and start working him in as the full time hoops radio color guy. As a former player he can (and does) bring perspective of experience in playing at this level .. traveling on buses .. dealing w/ crappy conference officials, etc. Consistency game to game will help Frenchy too.Nice work Scott .. keep it up! gozips19 Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 ZW i agree the scooter has done a better job recently but thought he turned into the color guy from major league yesterday. i only got to hear the second half and there were two 5 min. stretches that i didn't hear the scooter speak. the first time is when i turned the game on. i was surprised to hear him after awhile as i thought akron just sent frenchy. i think scooter really shines during the post game interviews. a majority of his questions are well thought out and generally get a good response from k.d./player. aside from the game yesterday i too think he's picked it up towards the end. lets hope he stays on next year to build more chemistry with frenchy. zip37 Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 I agree, wrote Mack about him being full-time on the side w/ or w/o Joe, since he is a all games anyhow, no $ to Univ. Quote
