May I suggest that we do not go to the Winking Lizard before the game or that we call ahead and they understand that we are coming and what the situation is. Last year they had the "Official Akron Pregame Party" there where we were given drink specials and free appetizers. The only problem is that our friends were forced to split up because the lizard doesn't allow anyone under 21 after 5pm. I saw a lot of AK-Rowdies turned away that night and it upset me quite a bit.

House of Blues?
The bar section is a bit small, but yes, an alternative. When that place first opened the service sucked.I have noticed an improvement lately.I think they're "on a mission from God." ;);) You know, I just thought of another one. It's tucked away on Boliver near the Gateway East parking deck right off E. 9th.Lots of room in there...it's called Champions. That would be a perfect spot. It has changed hands a few times..not many people know about it...but the atmospher is pretty good in there. There's also the Thirsty Parrott in the Caxton Building on Huron...used to be Pete and Dewey's. That's the one with the big deck behind Caxton across from the Bob Feller statue at the Jake.

had a blast at the lizard last year! does anyone know if they are "the official akron pre game" this year. most bars in the gate way area don't allow under 21 at night. you might want to try harry buffalo's as they also serve food. i would recommend flannery's but i am pretty sure that they are ohio's pre game spot again. :screwks:

Ohio also un-officially has a bunch of fans at the Clevelander. The owners are Ohio Alumni i think.

I say that the mayor of akron declair it Akron Zip day, like he did Charlie frye's senior year when he declared it "fryeday" he let the city offices close early an then alot of the city employees went to the game that week. Let people know it is city wide zips day....an have us all send them off to the Q pumped up.

The Rowdies made a tunnel for the players from the JAR to the bus before the game yesterday. The results in the end of the night were awesome... so is there anyone other than me who feels that we gotta do the tunnel thing before every away game in order to win ? Who are you calling superstitious ?
