Akron [23-6 (13-3), RPI: 68, SOS: 202] The Zips won at Can't State on Sunday to claim the tougher MAC East title, and they are worth a look at this point. It's funny, but a silly loss to UALR in the season opener might really have undermined the at-large efforts, as Akron missed a chance for a winnable game against Texas Tech, with games against Marquette and Air Force in the offing. Still, the Zips beat Niagara (which is in the MAAC final) and Oral Roberts (Mid-Con favorite), so there's something there in nonconference play. They will have an awful lot of wins if they fall in the MAC final. Could Akron sneak in? We have a week left to see how the parts move around.

That's nice to see someone valuing some of the games we won during non-conference play. It looks like Niagara ended up being a decent team.I know I keep saying this, but we'll lose any chance a an at-large once they look at our resume next to that of any power conference team with an 18-20 wins, with a couple of wins over ranked teams.Which makes me ask my fellow Zips fans this question.....Does anyone think we would have gotten an at-large if we had beaten Nevada? My answer.....I think we'd be a solid bubble team if that had happened. OK...with that said.........LET'S JUST GO WIN THE TOURNAMENT !!
