ZachTheZip Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 I have just read from Vandelay on the MAC forums that due to this year's scheduling debacle, only division games will count for a team's conference record. Here is the discussion. If you read that, this decision could cause some pretty weird outcomes regarding who becomes division champions. Quote
zff Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 That is how it was two or three years ago. It really makes the games vs. the west teams boring........ Quote
GoZips88 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I was out trolling on OU's web site and I noticed they are counting the days until the start of their football season ...ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio football team will make its 2007 season debut on Saturday, Sept. 1 versus Gardner-Webb at Peden Stadium. The match up with the Bulldogs was one of four non-conference games announced on Tuesday. After opening the season at home, the Bobcats will travel to Louisiana-Lafayette on Sept. 8 and Virginia Tech on Sept. 15. Ohio will host Wyoming on Sept. 22 in the final non-league game of the season."We believe we have put together a very competitive schedule that will prepare our football team for another run at a MAC championship," Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said. "Not only are we excited about the match ups, but also the fact we have the opportunity to play six home games." Gardner-Webb??? Louisiana-Lafayette??? "We believe we have put together a very competitive schedule that will prepare our football team for another run at a MAC championship," Yeah, right ... Quote
ziptrumpet87 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Doesn't he mean "We've scheduled enough patsies to help us be bowl eligible next year."? Quote
