GoZips88
Sounds like the MAC has just announced that they will be opening the curtains around the top of the Q for tonight's games. First time since the MAC moved the tournament to Cleveland that they've done that!Should be a helluva game tonight ... GO ZIPS!!!!!
skip-zip
Man, I'm so tired of going to all of these MAC tournaments, only to walk away with a sick feeling when we didn't get it done. It's been 15 years now. Let this be the year we finally get it done !!!!
sgm405
Question to the panel:If Akron loses tonight, is this season (even with 25 wins) a failure?
zipsbandman
Question to the panel:If Akron loses tonight, is this season (even with 25 wins) a failure? Don't even go there. I won't even talk about losing.

Actually, they have opened the curtains before. 2002 K ent v BG Championship attendance 14,000 and I think they opened them up for the OU v UB game in 2005.GO F L A S H E S !!! sgm405
Very exciting news...I'm hoping for a HUGE crowd tonight. Since you guys nixed my last question (lol) I'll ask this:How does this Akron-Can't match-up rank historically in terms of overall importance? Valpo Zip
I won't count the season a failure if we go deep in the NIT (like final 4 for example)...However, we still have to sweep that hippie team and get the trophy.
Zip Watcher
Some Zips fans are attending their 9th consecutive MAC tournament, regarless of the shortcomings of previous teams.

Didn't check other sources to make sure what I heard was correct.Win or lose tonight, there is just no denying that We all make mistakes in life but I am VERY thankful one of mine WASN'T attending Can't State! Valpo Zip
We all make mistakes in life but I am VERY thankful one of mine WASN'T attending Can't State! Oh man ! what a mistake that would have been. Just the thought of one of us being a flush makes me

Bleacher Bum
By the way, it's 12:35 and Can't State Still Sucks! If they're opening the curtains, there may be a bigger crowd at the Q tonight than there is in Chicago right now for other rivalry that doesn't mean anything. skip-zip
I don't think the season is a failure if we lose tonight. Anything can happen in the MAC, and usually something crazy does happen. Look what's happened to us over the years? This game will have some historical significance, because this year signals the beginning of the end of Can't's run as the King of the MAC East. There's a new sheriff in town.......and his name is Zippy. and will be watching the NCAA tournament from home while we are playing. It's about time.

IFlashedU
Akron teams always fail, get use to it! You will never win! Akron Basketball has been worthless since it joined the MAC. Go back to the OVC, you have a shot over there!

timsum1283
Akron teams always fail, get use to it! You will never win!Where have you been all season? The Zips beat Can't State TWICEand a 25-6 record is nothing to sneeze at
K-Roo
Don't know if this means anything but took an order at work to day from Can't State.... Marked it up big time --- of course. I'm an Akron alum Hopefully the Zips can do the same tonite...Go Zips!!!
skip-zip
I love how a Can't fan can come on here and just start talking, having absolutely no basis for what he's saying.Dude.....we beat you TWICE this year. INCLUDING A WIN ON YOUR HOME COURT. And we are now MAC East Champions. And you think we belong in the OVC??At the very WORST, we end the season winning 2 out of 3 against Can't, and go into next season as the DEFENDING champs of the MAC East. If you look at the facts, it looks like Can't should try playing in the OVC.
Agent Zero
I expect the Rowdies to be at the game en masse, if not just to remind them that ! Also, can the Rowdies move further down, closer to the basket? They aren't really in the basketball players line of vision from where they were sitting, where as if they moved down, they'd be seen right behind the backboard. Unfortunatley when we tried to sit down closer to the floor they moved us WAY up top before finding a not so happy medium where we were last night. I'm just hoping they at least give us the same seats tonight.
