zipsbandman Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 I believe I witnessed the best of this basketball team and from the fans. Big Big kudos to the Rowdie leadership who kept the students in the game. Big kudos to the seniors on the team. For what I hear, Romeo put his foot down at halftime. We showed out Can't state in every way that can be. Jeremiah Wood everybody...OMGHow sweet it was walking out of the Q rubbing it in the miserable Can't fans faces. It was great high fiving fellow zips fans. I would love to experience this again tomorrow.FOUR IN A ROW BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :screwks:Bring on the sweaters! Quote
skip-zip Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 The only thing that sucks right now, besides Can't, is that we won't have any time to enjoy this one.The looks on the faces of the Can't fans, players, and coaches is something that I will cherish for the rest of the my life. What do we call it? Stunned? Shell-shocked? confused? bewildered? That Can't team COMPLETELY FOLDED in the 2nd half. That was a major CHOKE, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I think a few of their players and cheerleaders were crying too.I loved it. Quote
zip81 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 I really think the difference tonight was maturity and our wide bodies in the paint. The first five minutes of the second half was key in turning the game around. We started working the ball in to Travis and Wood, who just had to fight their way to the rim. They either scored or were fouled. And speaking of foul shots...I think we've made some progress in this area. I believe we missed ten tonight. Romeo was six for six or eight for eight...I can't remember.Who would have thought Dials would be the one to lay up two bricks from the line. What a fantastic game. Quote
Quickzips Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 As bad as that first half was. The second half was 100X better. What else can you say. This team showed some grit. I, along with probably a lot of others thought we were done at halftime. We were shooting so cold it wasn't funny and we just couldn't do anything on defense. Then all of a sudden BAM! Here comes the Zips in full force. Dunno how many of you noticed but at the 4 minute mark in the second half Can't had scored a grand total of 9 points for the half. 9 points in 16 minutes. Doesn't get much better than that. Jeremiah Wood may be the best player in the MAC that noone really knows about. Well, except for Can't fans. They know all to well the human bulldozer that is JWood. He was huge tonight. He's been huge almost the whole second half of the year.Big props to Romeo for stepping up in the locker room at halftime and taking these guys by the balls and getting them to play. Thats the kind of leadership you expect from a senior and a MAC POY. Free throw shooting seems to have gotten a lot better. At least for Wood and Romeo. I still for the life of me can't figure out why our guards seem to be struggling at the line though. Cedrick boinked a few, Dru was only about 50% late in the game when it mattered and even the normally clutch Dials missed a couple. These are the guys who are supposed to be high percentage FT shooters. Romeo and Wood combined missed 1 FT tonight while those 3 missed at least half a dozen. I just don't get it. Ohh well. We still won.Ohh yeah, and Can't STATE STILL SUCKS!!!Bring on the Sweaters. Quote
