Quickzips Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 This bushleague confrence of ours continues to amaze me. They just can't help themselves but to suck over and over and over again. You can't tell me that 1 ref with a stopwatch is adequate to figure that mess out. Your trying to correct human error by a process that is even more subject to human error. How in the world does that make sense??? Rick Chryst is the biggest joke of a commisioner in college sports. If he had half a ball in his sack he would have been down there and taken care of this situation. Congrats Rick. Have fun watching your 15 seed get demolished in the first round. Quote
ZipAlumn Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Akron seems to get the short end of the stick from the MAC when it comes to scheduling. Every team get the shaft from the MAC when it come to poor officiating. Why the MAC gets all those invites to bowl games in football but on one to the NCAA Basketball Tournament is beyond me. What makes the Horizon League or the Missouri Valley Conference worthy of multiple bids when Toledo and Akron can only hope for an NIT bid, and Can't (even those they suck) sits home. Quote
skip-zip Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 ZipAlumn...I hear part of what you are saying, about the scheduling....How was it that Can't got a HOME GAME against us to close the season? That's not a coincidence. The league knew that we'd be the best two teams, and helped put Can't into position to win it on their home floor. Fortunately, that didn't happen.But...let me tell you why we aren't getting into the NCAA Tournament. And it has nothing to do with the conference we play in.1) We have no wins to show over ranked teams, and many of the other bubble teams have multiple wins over ranked teams. Sure, I understand Dambrot's point about not wanting to play a ranked team on the road. But, if that's the stand he is taking, then we have few chances to beat a ranked team.2) When you have a non-conference loss like our loss to Arkansas Little-Rock, who unded up being a sub-.500 team. That doesn't help. 3) We still had a remote chance to make a statement to the NCAA by posting late road wins at Toledo and Miami, and lost both games. Quote

Fortunately, that didn't happen. What the hell are you talking about?! K-E-N-T played at Akron the last game of the 2005-06 regular season, while hosting the Zips early in MAC play. They alternated this season, with K-E-N-T hosting at the end of the season and playing at the JAR early in the MAC schedule. Next season, Akron likely will host K-E-N-T at the end of the season. That's been the pattern for some time. The only difference is that the teams haven't always faced each other on the final weekend of the regular season. So, enough with the ridiculous conspiracy theories. Quote
