The two previous games were two-point affairs. Why would any reasonably knowledgable MAC basketball fan expect this one to be a blow-out, either way?Frankly, for those who want to argue about timing issues, you might want to see how much time ticked off when Middleton was fouled. The clock is supposed to stop as soon as the whistle blows. Replay shows about 1.9 rolled off.Regardless, Doug hit a great, lucky shot. This is the seventh game-winning shot he's hit in his career, BTW.Don't blame Middleton, or foul-shooting in general. You guys shot about your season average from the line. We shot about our season average. That didn't decide it.Wood and Travis were monsters inside. So was Tim Pollitz. Guys played hard on both sides.It was just our night. As to the NCAA issues, playing a tougher schedule, even if you've gotta go on the road to do it, is the difference. 26 wins is awesome. It would be more awesome if there were some better teams on that list.Miami's schedule strength is in the high 90s. Akron's is in the high 190s. That's the difference.Having a reputation of being willing to go anywhere, any time, any place, gets BCS teams willing to come to you. Michigan visited Millett Hall this year. We had to play up there last year to get that game, plus a football game at the Big House, but they came to Millett Hall.Even losing to Kentucky in Rupp Arena, as we did, prepares a team for last night's game. Not to mention playing in Illinois' tournament. Or at Xavier, and at Cincinnati, and at Dayton.You guys are a very good team. You'll do some serious damage in the NIT, if your players don't feel too slighted, as ours did each of the last two years.Best of luck. Get to the Gardens!

Yeah if we were in the NIT.KD realizes he can only play the big boys on the road. What he doesn't want to do is fill up the schedule with road games just to get a tougher schedule as you will end up loosing too many games and/or getting beat up so that you can't remain competive in your own conference. He does need to take at least one or two road games a year at a major conference school even it that will probably be a loss. Due to the nature of RPI those one or two losses will help both your RPI and strength of schedule.
