andy_h1
Anyone like the idea of organizing a "Bracket Burning" party? Maybe hold a bonfire on or near campus, pass out copies of the NCAA and NIT brackets and send them up in flames? That would make a statement to the NCAA for sure, we should really do this for real............
UAZipster0305
I think it's a good idea. We'd have to get some media coverage to make it worth while though.
UA Fan
If you start a fire on campus you will get some media coverage I thought that wasn't allowed until May Day tho
zip81
Here are the numbers to the TV assignment desks. These numbers take you right to the newsrooms:There's no guarentee, however, a bracket burning, I'm pretty sure, would get coverage from the sports departments. This may even be sent to ESPN.Be sure to tell them when and where and how many are expected to show. Call it a "Bracket-Burning Bon Fire."(titles work well with the media)WKYC- 216-344-3300WKYC (Eric Mansfield in Akron) 330-535-4105WEWS- 216-431-3700WJW- 216-432-4240WOIO/WUAB- 216-367-7319Sunset is at 7:29 this evening...perfect for the best video and it gives them plenty of time to get it on the 10 and 11 p.m. newsGet all the Rowdies there in uniform.Remember..for TV...IT'S ALL ABOUT THE PICTURES. Tell them there will be cheers and a demonistation of support for the Zips!!!
zip81
Please pick a spot in Spicertown or somewhere off campus. We don't want this turning into a blackeye for the Univeristy by doing something illegal or where the cops have to get involved. That would undo everything you are trying to do.Let's not make this into a May Day thing. Thanks
UA Fan
Seriously. Fires on campus in NE Ohio are always a bad thing. Be safe & legal. This story can still have some traction nationally and bring pressure to bear on the NCAA/NIT and bring us some notice for 26 wins with narrow losses. I've never heard of anyone doing a bracket burning before and it would go over well in the media if done properly.
