zip81 Posted March 17, 2007 Report Share Posted March 17, 2007 Came across this Web site with current and historic football helmets.Go to the Akron (MAC) page.Fairly accurate, but I do see an error.In 1979, the Zips replaced the standard "A" in an oval, like the one on my signature, with a script "Zips" on the traditional gold helmet.They will correct any mistakes if someone documents the helmet. Unfortunatley, I don't have any pictures of that particular helmet.I would imagine it's in the 1980 press guide, but I don't have that one.Does anyone remember the helmet I'm talking about?It was the year that Bob Maxwell was our quarterback.We played road games at:TempleBoise StateMorehead St.E.
