timmyboy Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 Romeo played in the "all star" game yesterday or the other day an he didnt do all that bad considering there were some very good players there. He was a starter and he has 8 pts, 2 assists,2 TO, 1 block (i believe he had a block)and 1 steal in 25 minutes. he had a very good weeek of practice according to several scouts. Doubt it will push him into the NBA draft, but it will give him a better chance of catching on with an NBA(DL) team. Quote
Kangaroo Craig Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 He'll get a tryout with the Cavs because of his relationship with LeBron, and his local exposure. Quote
skip-zip Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 The NBA only has two rounds these days, so we won't get drafted.Although he was a good fit in the MAC, he has too many negatives as an NBA player. Not big enough to be a post player, and not a good enough jump shot to play facing the basket as a small forward. And he doesn't have the foot speed to guard an NBA small forward, many of whom love to slash with lightning quickness to the basket. Many good MAC post players over the years have fallen into this category. Sure, maybe the Cavs will give him a tryout due to his LeBron connection. But if he wants to, I think he can play pro ball for the next several years somewhere in Europe. Quote
zipdiehard Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 His relationship with Lebron could actually hurt him. The Cavs may want nothing to do with the publicity of a perceived "charity case", especially if he would make the team. People are always going to think he only got in because of that, even if he shows that he deserves to be there. Romeo may not even want to deal with it. Going overseas is probably his best route.
