ziptrumpet87 Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 Akron’s appearance in the 2005 Motor City Bowl was the first in school history. Could a new stadium be the springboard the university needs to take its football to the next level? Could it become the next University of Louisville, an urban school featuring a football program that has exploded onto the national stage?“It could be,” said Stacy. “But there are other things that need to be addressed like a new basketball arena before they’d have a chance at moving to that level.”interesting that he brought the basketball arena into the conversation... Buckzip Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 Although I agree about the basketball arena, I don't think that has anything to do with football being on top. There are many schools that are high profile in one sport and not the other. There are even some schools that don't have both sports.Xavier doesn't have a football team. Yet they are usually top 10 in bball. Quote
