Zips fan
I noticed that people were commenting on the attire of servers at several establishments this past weekend. Servers make the majority of their money on tips and wearing that ugly red and silver probably helps their bottom line. I hope servers who were their Blue and Gold are rewarded for their decision. Let's go Zips!!!
bobbyake
I usually tip good, but the guy that was wearing an OSU shirt at Brubakers last week only got $1 from me. He was lucky he got that

If you didn't tip because he was wearing OSU colors, that is lame... You don't think a server in Columbus wouldn't get tipped if they were wearing a Michigan shirt? Well I guess that is a little more extreme since it is the Buckeyes rival. So i guess from now on I won't tip if I see someone wearing a Can't State shirt....Oh wait i don't ever see someone wearing a Can't state shirt. skip-zip
Speaking of Can't State shirts....I had heard someone on here mention that the Arlington Road Kohl's store had Akron gear. So, I went down there one afternoon about a week ago to see what they had, and right there inside the entrance was a couple of racks of college tee shirts and sweat shirts.Of course, there's some Notre Dame, USC, Penn State, Ohio State, etc. And then I see some open space, and only a few Akron shirts, but nothing in my size. And then, I see TONS of Can't State tee shirts. So, at first I'm pissed because there's nothing left in Akron. But, I soon became overjoyed at the reality of the whole situation.THE Can't STATE GEAR WASN'T SELLING Thought you guys might enjoy that. bobbyake
Any other day I wouldn't have cared as much. But on that day, OSU was playing Akron!!

Sooo, if he was instructed to wear OSU colors by management, he should be punished by customer for it. Is that what you are saying? He probably now thinks Akron fans are jerks. More reaon to love the Zips. You guys need to remember this is a freaking game. Unlike some people believe, whom you root for really has no bearing on yours or anyone elses life. bobbyake
Buckzip, that's just what people do. If a Republican went out to eat on election day and the server was wearing a Democrat shirt, would the server expect a good tip?

Your employer can't tell you to wear a political symbol. They can tell you to wear specific colors.

Since she was a Can't Student, I tipped her the 20 percent. She was a real sweetheart.I hold her manager responsible for the pettiness...not her. Not for what sports team they root for, or in some cases told to root for. Did she give you horrible service because you are an Akron fan? I doubt it.This goes back to what I said before. It is a freaking game.

Reward your server if they are wearing Zips stuff. No need to be punitive if they are wearing something else. If you want to send a message to your server that their Akron attire is appreciated, show them by giving a strong tip.
Big Zip
If you host the coaches show and you sponsor the Zips -- then Zips fans show up at your establishment for the Akron/OSU game and you are wearing OSU gear -- I don't give a flip what you say that is bullshit! All being cheap to the servers is going to do is make you cheap and embarrass the Zips Nation. Unless you're saving up for skyscrapers...then I guess it's OK. Agreed...but wouldn't the more intelligent move be to discuss the matter with management that to stiff servers that survive on getting good tips? Have some damn class...that's all we're saying. If it's that big of a deal what shirt your waiter/waitress wears, talk to the manager...don't take it out on them. What an embarrassment... I never implied anywhere to be cheap to anyone. Your reading skills are really lacking if you are inferring this information from my posts. Again, if a server is wearing Zips clothing and you want to show your appreciation, show them a strong tip.
