CARLTON TO START

Official word from Coach Brookhart on GoZips.com in his weekly press conference...so much for the mystery of making K-E-N-T prepare for either to start. Of course, they will see both at one point or another.“We are going to start Carlton on Saturday (against Can't State). Chris will get a series in the second quarter. We used the spring and went live because we needed to see how they both would react under fire and after four days they were both out (with injuries). When they came back we tempered it back and didn’t get to see them live. As we went through the fall Chris proved to be the better decision maker. He was steady and called all the plays correctly. We felt comfortable going with him. Carlton came in at Army and did a decent job. Then he came in for the first drive (against Indiana) and did a nice job. I think what we saw during Indiana were the things we weren’t able to evaluate during practice like his ability to improvise and make some things happen. He still needs to take care of the football better and improve his management of the game which I think he will.”

All we can do is hope that this is the right move. Jackson could do more to help us, but will he hurt us too? We'll see.
If we had more offensive weapons out on the field to where we could afford to have a game manager at QB Jacquemain would be the right move. We don't. We have Jabari, a rotation of decent RB's and an ever disappearing Kris Kasparek. We need CJ our best athletes on the field right now and CJ is a better all around athlete than Chris is every day of the week. No offense to Chris, but right now his strengths don't fit in with what this team needs.

ii do agree cj gives us a better chance because he can scramble.we all saw what the indi qb did to us.i think alott of it's the o-line and our lack our running game.i think we have some offensive players in fuqua, williams, jabari, poindexter.i just don'tthink our o- line gives any of them a chance to make plays.until our running games gets better we will struggle.when our running game gets better it will open up the passinggame.
