Guest Mastodon Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 MAC Football Players of the Week for game of Oct. 23, 2004 East Division Offense - Brett Biggs, Akron, running back (Jr., Bartow, Fla.) Biggs accounted for 309 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns in a 35-23 win over Ball State as the Zips improved to 4-1 in league play. Biggs rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns and grabbed five passes for 86 yards and a score. His all-purpose yards ranks No. 2 all-time at Akron and his rushing total is the fourth highest since the school went to I-A in 1987. Biggs was previously honored as special teams player of the week for games of Sept. 11. Defense - Jonathan Goddard, Marshall, defensive end (Sr., Jacksonville, Fla.) Goddard forced two fumbles, recorded a sack and 2.5 tackles for a loss in a 48-14 win over Buffalo. Goddard was credited with a team high nine tackles as the Thundering Herd upped its MAC record to 4-0. for Goddard, it is his fourth player of the week honor this season. Special Teams - Ivan Clark, Marshall, punt return team (So., Ford, Va.) Clark blocked two punts, including one that was recovered by Dennis Thornton in the end zone for a touchdown, vs. Buffalo. Clark also recorded two tackles on special teams and was credited with a block that triggered a 40-yard punt return. LINK Quote
