Did you see the Headline for the Plain Dealer today?"New Vision for the reigon's universities? It says "Two universities could be combined".It goes on to talk mostly about the NEOUCOM, which Cleveland basically steals from portage county. At first, I thought maybe that's all it was (as if that's a little thing. it's a coup in itself), and I figured they just wanted to help out cleveland, a town which is killing itself and needs the state to throw it bones as it drowns, as if that's going to help. But then I read on, and some of this stuff sound very serious."Combining CSU and UA would eliminate overlapping programs and administrative jobs, and the two schools would then function under a single leader."Get this BS: "There is a pretty broad concensus that the status quo in Northeast Ohio is not acceptable," Fingerhut said.BULLSHyT! Maybe it's bad in cleveland, but why fux up the rest of NEOhio because of it???Okay, so I started this thread. Maybe I should keep my opinion out of this post and reserve it for the debate to ensue. So I have a question or two. I can't imagine a fullblown merger, which is what some of the more provocative statements in the article indicate. Can you imagine this? How would it work? Northcoast University North and South? WTFWhat about the football games? We got a new stadium in the works. Do you take some of your classes in up I77 and some of them down I77?Other than making some of the administrative desk jockies work for both schools, how is this some kinda genius move?
