Valpo Zip
I am an ex-rowdy, graduated last summer and moved out of town.I am making the trip to see the game tomorrow. planning to sign up as an ak-oldie but i am wondering if there will be an ak-oldies section where we all sit together and give the flushes hard time... If not, can alumnus still sit with the rowdies ? I am definitely not looking forward to make the 3 hours trip to end up sitting by a bunch of old people sitting on their hands and talking about the weather

MightyZip6
AK-OLDIES are MORE then welcome to sit/stand with the AK-ROWDIES! As you are aware the AK-ROWDIES section is technically like a G.A. Section anyway first come first serve all that.

I just want to say how proud I am to see the student cheering section at today's game.Very, very impressive. The whole atmosphere was outstanding....from tailgate city to the cheering section in the Bowl.Outstanding!!The thunder sticks were "thundering."A good day to be a Zip! I mentioned it in another thread already, but it was embarrassing listening to the Fuck Can't State chants all game long. We've complained and complained about that coming from Can't for years. There is no reason that we should have been doing that. I was impressed with the quantity of the student section today, but the quality was severly lacking. I know it's a rivalry game, but come on now.

Many of the students that started those stupid chants were not AK-Rowdies. They were the same students that wanted to storm the field, and the same ones who printed up the "golden f.lashers" signs (If you saw those, I'm so, so, very sorry), and the ones who were stealing the "Roo Zoo" signs from the railings, and the ones who were intentionally destroying the bleachers for amusement. The Wagon Wheel games bring out the best in some, and the worst in others, and that goes for both schools.

Zipsrifle
I'm an OLDIE who sits in GA. For Homecoming, I think we should grab the front few rows next to the Rowdies closer to midfield (We're older and deserve more respect...so we should get better seats). I'll put something up a week before the game.

bobbyake
lol, Warning to the oldies: Students from the sky require hands to keep them up or else they fall.Zippy avoided the student section the whole game. He knew we were going to send him up.

KNCLZip
Should I even ask, but will they let people with reserved tickets sit in GA? I'm both faculty and AK-Rowdies member. I have a reserved ticket for the home side (and in a pretty decent location too) but stand with the Rowdies. Never been any problem. If you tried the opposite, they'd probably have a problem with it....It's funny how in the student section people stand for the game and sit at halftime while on the other side it's the opposite....I wonder if the Rubber Bowl staff can do a better job on 10/13 about "regular" GA seating folk sitting in the student/Rowdies section and then complaining about the Rowdies standing? Those sections are clearly marked on the ticket materials but once inside the stadium it's less clear to folks where regular GA is versus the Rowdies section......
