sgm405
I do hate him and think he's a classless jerk, but I always cheered for him to do well when he was a member of the Zips and then a member of the Browns. That never took over my allegiance to the school. Now that he's a Seahawk? I don't care if he ever plays another down in the NFL. You see, I didn't let my hatred of the guy get in the way of cheering for my teams (Zips/Browns). HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! bold face lies. You did not support him when he was a brown. I was there in threads when you and w00t were both basically equating him to shit on a stick BEFORE he got traded to the seahawks There's a biiiiig difference between SUPPORTING a guy and LIKING a guy. I SUPPORTED Charlie by hoping he'd do well to help the Browns win ballgames. I put my personal dislike of Charlie aside because I am a Browns fan no matter what.I don't LIKE Charlie because I witnessed him be a complete and total jerk to numerous people, an event that always stands out in my mind.Just because I say/said that he isn't a good NFL QB didn't mean that every Sunday I wasn't hoping to be wrong. Trust me, I'd much rather have Browns W's than me to be right about Charlie Frye. Unfortunately, I was right, and he's now #3 behind a freakin' wide receiver in Seattle...not exactly looking good for Chuckster. You can support your team without being a glorified cheerleader and ignoring what statistics and game results told us - that Charlie Frye was simply not a very good starting QB. zen
I suppose I might feel the same way if I witnessed whatever it was that you did. Then again, I consider myself a nice guy (as others have said that I am as well) but I can be a serious jerk to people when I feel there is a reason for it.Anyway, now that I know your reasons, and I can put it into context, I don't think I will react to it the same way in the future. You obviously didn't just decide one day to be a Frye-basher for the fun of it, or to goad Frye supporters, and to me that is different. To me, it's less offensive if you have a personal reason for it.Of course, that does NOT mean I am going to stop hoping he does well in the NFL. I think one of the reasons I now dislike him so much was because I always cheered him on as a Zip, because the Akron faithful treated him like a God, and I always heard he was a great guy. And then to witness him being a complete and total asshole to a few Zips faithful - it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. No matter how much you want to think about all of the positive stories you've heard about the guy, you cannot forget what you saw.He might even be a really great guy...unfortunately, I only have one experience to base my opinion off of. 74ZIP
 WOW...lets get back to the task at hand...the ZIPS winning the division...if the Zips keep winning in the MAC can't can win all the games they want...AND we hope they do because we got the eventual tiebreaker... w00t
2) You can put a poll up if you want...hey, it might be interesting to see the results. But when I think of the matchup, and have to choose between:- Our hated rival, the team that actually creates shirts ripping and mocking Akron (albeit not very successfully IMO), the school whose fans chant "Fuck you Akron"...the school that is in ou r conference, who we fight against for MAC championships in multiple sports...the school that is so hated, our forum has "K-e-n-t" spelled "Cant"...ORRRRRRRRRRRRRR...- A school that is NOT rival, is NOT in our conference...that we only play a few times a year...the school that does nothing to our fans or our school, but gets more media coverage and "competes" with us for recruits...And you're going to pick school A?Shame on you, and anyone else who agrees with you...if anything, a Can't win would help them with recruiting, with would then hurt us in the long run. And you're going to wear their gear?
