ZippyRulz
From Dr. P.'s state of the university address..."Thanks especially to our Board of Trustees, who started our campus on a journey now known as the New Landscape for Learning, we are riding a wave of progress and success that some may have thought impossible to achieve. But, together, we have achieved it. There is, today, incredible momentum for us to continue on our current course toward higher levels of excellence. To capitalize on that momentum, I am pleased to announce that we are launching today a comprehensive fund-raising campaign with $500 million goal.<snip>In fact, I am pleased to tell you that we have been in the quiet phase of this campaign and already have received more than $275 million in gifts, grants and pledges. So, as we launch its public phase today, we are more than halfway to our $500 million goal, and our endowment is among the top 100 in the U.S.! ZachTheZip
Wow. That's a lot of money. What to do with half a billion dollars? We could start by getting professors that speak english. If we still have money left over, we should invest in more graduate-level programs. If UA is northern Ohio's main research campus, shouldn't we have a doctorate program of some kind? Zip Watcher
Doesn't the U have several doctorate programs? I'm quite certain the College of Engineering has them.

ZachTheZip
Doesn't the U have several doctorate programs? I'm quite certain the College of Engineering has them. After doing a bit of research, It appears that we do have a few doctoral programs at UA, such as Biomedical and Polymer Engineering, and also Psychology and a few others, but nothing near the number it could be. UA also recently added a new undergrad degree in Biochemistry. I would love to see more diversified undergrad programs for UA, especially a few liberal arts ones to lure some students away from Can't. mccracken
When I read this, I thought "buildings, buildings, buildings." I think the administration's plan is for continuing the expansion of campus. UA is starting to remind me of Epcot, except Spaceship Earth is rectangular and made of glass... UA produces PhD's from every department in Arts & Science, social sciences, etc.
