ZachTheZip Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 What's up with this game? ESPN shows that we won 38-28! I've never seen such a low score! That should be the halftime score, or something. Can anyone confirm this?Never mind. I just turned on the radio. It is a half-time score. Stupid ESPN getting up my hopes like that. Quote

Stupid ESPN getting up my hopes like that.Hey -- at least we don't have to face Truck Robinson in this game, like the last time I remember playing them -- in Evansville in 1971! That was considered the best small college team ever, and we stopped their undefeated season! Thanks to Roberson, the Massillon kid. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 Akron up 55-49 with 9:47 left. Akron really can't defend the three. I'm sure once they get some rest and time to practice that will improve. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 Akron up 69-65 with 3:57 left. The Refs are calling everything they can. Both teams are fouling left and right without even doing anything. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 Tied at 72. 43 seconds left. Tenn State ball. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 Akron timeout. We have the ball with 16 seconds left tied at 72. Akron can take the last shot to win it. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 AKRON WINS! 74-72. We have left the tourney with a 2-1 record, and now start a homestand. I expect a dramatic improvement in this team after they get some rest and have a chance to watch film and practice a bit. Quote
GoZips88 Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 What a great day - Zips soccer advances to the NCAA tournament and the Zips go 2-1 out in the middle of nowhere to start the season. CMU in football on Friday and Binghamton next Saturday night to get things going at home - looking forward to the short work week! Way to go Zips! Quote
zip37 Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Z.I.P. The Massillon kid was Brian Westover (I called him Leftover) there was another NBA player on that team, but I can't remember his name. Can anyone remember the other guy? Leftover made that driving layup at my end of the court. Z.I.P. were you one of the Bleacher Bums? Quote
