ZachTheZip
http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articl...213122007-1.htmIt's always good to see UA partner with the local Fortune-500 companies. The lack of a major partnership with Goodyear still troubles me, and I have no idea whether UA developes materials for Gojo, but this deal is a good thing. ZippyRulz
All I can say is if this research deal was made behind Tosu's back, Fingerhut is going to be really pissed. Now that it's posted on CNN they will find out...
Big Zip
FirstEnergy has always been run by a host of Akron grads -- Tony Alexander has multiple degrees and Pete Burg before him -- Pete even played basketball for Akron in the early 70s I believe. When Kanfer was on the board I think the U may have partnered more with GoJo. It seems the higher up we have Akron grads the better chance we have of having a partnership. skip-zip
I think H. Peter Burg was a lot older than someone who could have played basketball for the Zips in the 70s. but I could be wrong.

Pete Beg did indeed attend the University of Akron in the mid 60's and he did play basketball for them. In fact I think that he was Captain in his senior year. I know, I was there, and I knew Pete. skip-zip
I was only disputing what someone said about him playing in the 70s. Knowing a lot about him, I'm guessing that he could not have still been playing at the age he was in the 70s. But I could be wrong. But, I did not know that he was a UA basketball player, so that is a new piece of information
ziptrumpet87
Doesn't Joe Jacubick or Brian Roth work there too?
