skip-zip
OU beat Can't tonight. And did it in impressive style. Without Bubba playing at all. I wonder if OUs coach sees a correlation here.
ZachTheZip
That win moved us to #70 in the RPI. We finished last year at #66. Beat BGSU and then beat Can't before we play the west, and we'll be in a much better position than last year. Plus we get to play Miami, Ohio, and Can't another time to help out SOS out a bit after it takes a hit from playing the pathetic West. skip-zip
You got it. But winning on the road at Can't will be one tall task. Let's hope for the best.

The ones that can drive a team foward when they're not doing well.

That would be a shame!
zipsbandman
Akron will not win at the MACC center this year. Can't is surely to be pissed at us like we were pissed at Miami. Not to mention the flushes are much better this year. We live and die by the three. We will not shoot in that hostile environment like we shoot in the JAR. That, and we have no inside help other than Wood, and that is a weakness that could cost us the championship this year. Our guard play is better, but if we are not hitting we are not a very good offensive team. Ham 'n cheese will give us some problems with his defense. skip-zip
zipsbandman....I respect your opinion. But this is the MAC, where the refs stink, and teams rarely play consistently from game to game. I mean, saying that Ball State won't win a particular game might be something that you can guarantee, depending on the opponent. But, you're willing to be bold enough to say that the top team in the MAC (Akron) WILL NOT WIN a particular game?Just checking.
bigzipguy
I said this before, and so did you skip_zip, need scoring from somebody other than Wood down low.
zipsbandman
Can't can and will shut down Wood. The game will be physical. That takes Quade out of the picture. Bardo still does not seem adapted to the speed D-1 basketball. McKnight is our only hope, and he has pretty much been a nonfactor, and his brother still does not have enough experience to be tossed to the wolves. So it comes down to our guards, and it is going to be tough getting off shots against Can't's more athletic guards. Ohio was a rude awakening. It really exposed our weakness inside, and showed us what we look like when we don't knock down our shots. I shouldn't say we won't win, but I know it will be a lot tougher than last year, and we barely got that one.

Hopefully we can get a good amount of Rowdies there before the game sells out. All I want for my birthday is a Zips win!

Ham 'n cheese will give us some problems with his defense. In my humble opinion Can't is not better this year than they were last year. We do not "live and die by the three" considering Wood is our leading scorer and usually our number one option. Lastly, Ham n' cheese has been the one over the last few years that does not step up in big games... does anyone ever remember him having a good game against us? He's horribly overrated. I say Akron in a close one. I find your lack of faith disturbing, zipsbandman.
skip-zip
BigZipGuy....Yes, I have said that our glaring weakness is Wood being our only presence inside. And I still believe that is the case. I guess I am just kind of shocked that someone thinks Can't is that good that they are sure that we won't win this game. That's really, really bold. It's one game, in the ever-unpredictable MAC, with the 1st place involved. Kind of an odd situation in which someone would be so certain of a loss. Valpo Zip
I don't see us pulling a W in the MACC unless, one of the McKnights or Quade have a big game and (no one mentionned that yet) we shoot >80% at FT.
