Going with 5/6 players

If you look at box score from last night, Dambrot is going with 5/6 players. That scares me, these guys are tired (Dials missed both free throws). Do you think they can keep this up, or should he be subbing more?
I also thought Dials was spent when he missed both FTs, but I didn't realize he had a 3rd, 4th, or even 5th wind! They should be fine by Saturday.

I agree I agree I agree. 41 minutes for J Wood, Dials shot 10 threes in over 30 minutes. Of course they will be tired, especially to shoot free throws which takes a lot of focus. 10-19 and still won the game, but the steal difference 11-2 had to been some of the difference. Can anyone figure out why McNees does not take as many shots, did Coach tell him not to? If you are a three point shooter, you should take more than 2 shots if you are playing around 20 minutes.

I hope we can run our offense for a good portion of each shot clock AND get a good look at the basket. I do NOT want to get into a run-and-gun with UMass if we can do anything about it. Not sure how much of that Ced and Wood can take given their knee situations. I hope three days is enough for the guys to get their legs back. Dials looked spent when he barely caught rim on his two missed FT attempts last night.

Speaking of Dials, I know he is not your prototype point man. He doesn't penetrate well, which limits his ability to create offense at times. But, he has an excellent assist/turnover ratio, and almost always can be counted on to hit the clutch free throws down the stretch. PLUS, I heard the other day that he has compiled the 3rd highest assist total in a season for a Zip player this year.We really can't complain too much about what he's done to fill that role this year, as far as I am concerned.

Would love to have his attitude, competitiveness and work ethic on the sideline as a coach. The Rowdies have been spot-on all along with "Di-als! Di-als! ..."

Cedi seems to be backing off, going backwards somewhat, I think knees are bothering him again, last 3 games only scored 7 or less points if my memory serves me correct. You hate what Dials does the whole game and then what does he do in overtime? Wins the game, but... what if those 3's didnt go in? We sure didn't have an inside game last night. I am just thinking they really look tired, but it looks like they are going to get no help from Conyers thanks to Coach D. Something must of happened there.

I'm thinking KD was giving the starters a chance to redeem themselves after the MAC championship game. Especially Dials. Well, they got their chance, and they made the most of it. We should get back to an 9 man rotation for UMass, because they will run us out of the building if we don't.

Two things make this a little misleading to me.First off, the game went into overtime. Naturally the starters minutes are going to go up with those extra 5 minutes of play.Second, Florida State didn't have a lot of depth either. Now is this an excuse for us not to go to our bench? No, but it does show that we didn't necessarily need to to keep up with fresh bodies that our opponents were putting in. Florida State only played 8 guys and only 6 of them played double digit minutes. For contrast we played 10 guys and 7 went double digit minutes. I'd love to see more contribution from our bench as much as the next guy, but I can't blame KD for not doing it. McNees has proven to be a streaky player and when he's not on he can be a major liability on the floor. Quade gets more and more painful to watch by the game. Bardo still has a long way to go before he is ready to play major minutes. Roberts and B.McKnight are coming along nicely, but you've still got to be careful with guys who have only played half a season. Finally, at this point it is blatantly obvious that there is a big underlying problem with Conyers that is keeping him off the floor.

Man does Conyers look pissed sitting on that bench! I was suprised they only played 8 guys (Florida), for some reason they didn't look as tired as we did.
