Speaking of that, how many do you think would have been at the JAR last night for a game vs. FSU?I'd bet about 3000 .. maybe more. Definitely more than FSU or UMass had .. maybe combined.

If you recall, only a few people showed up at Temple a couple of years ago for our NIT game there.Don't you guys think that maybe the NIT should reconsider their "assumption" that the bigger venues/teams will draw the bigger crowds for NIT games? I certainly think so. The attendance for the OU game last night is probably a good lesson that it would not be worth our while to pay for a home game in the CBI, should we ever have that situation.

Wow ... OU athletics is already taking a bath in red ink and they only drew 1169 ??? Just like adding another $50K or whatever the loss is to what they're already paying TOS. Pricey way to get that 20th win. Will have to venture over to BobcatAttack and lurk for a bit to see what they think.

Based on one thread I sifted through on the OU site, it sounds like the CBI MAY have reduced the cost to host a game. It also sounds like TOS was prepared to lose some money in exchange for the chance to host a game - from one of the OU posts ..."O'Shea was quoted earlier this week as saying he'd pick up another $$$ game next year to cover any losses we incur by playing in this tournament, so I'm not too worried about the budget implications. Though it would be nice to see a few more people coming out for this."

After last Saturday, I thought I would root for them. I've since come to my senses.1) I would rather see the Can't get waxed just to bring misery to their fans than have them do good "For the MAC". 2) Can't making a run into the tourney will help their recuriting, making it harder on us in the future.3) It wouldn't matter if Can't won the NCAA Title, the MAC would still get one bid next season.

Everything you guys all said makes perfect sense to me.However, I will still be rooting for cant when I watch the game and I can't really explain why. All I can do is describe my emotional rationale. I will be rooting for them to win, but if they lose, I will very much enjoy it.

If we look at Akron's program.............we have a lot more to lose by Can't advancing in the tournament than we have to gain.
