Guest HoopsManiac Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Well, Some better than so far performances by a few players that have been MIA this season allowed the Zips to get to 0-8 on the season. The only positive thing being that they get to finish the non-conference season with 6 of 7 being at home. As patience continues to wear even thinner for this Zips fan, I hope that Tuesday's contest vs. Wright State finally allows us to put the first check in the W column. I would love to rip on the lack of teaching being done but we've already done that and I don't have any more to be said but 0-8 is a complete joke. Quote

GoZips Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 No down low post type players = oh and eight You simply can't get by with recruiting just guards. Maybe, just maybe, the light will go on for Coach Kennedy. Is it that she can't sign big players or does she simply have a crazy idea that the shorter the better, ala Jae "what a joke" Conn? Div-I women's basketball requires skilled, quick and tall players, just like the men. Stop reading how to win at women's basketball books copyrighted 1950. Quote
Guest HoopsManiac Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Well, post play is definitely a key to winning. The bad thing is you have some very good post players on the roster. A freshman that was named Ohio's player of the year in her division and a similar player in Mandy Holzer. Seems to me that it's more than recruiting that is the problem. I think that Holzer had a lot more production at this point last year so why the downfall in her game. There's not many answers to that question. I'm sure that the AD will allow Coach to see her contract through especially with him going out and getting her but I sure hope that he's keeping his eyes and ears open. I agree with the comment about Conn. It probably seemed like a good idea at the time but c'mon her bad games are far to consistent to be outweighed by the games where she shows up ready to go and is productive. It's a defensive nightmare in match ups no matter what way you look at it. Quote
