"Akron is my mystery team in the EAST. Easily .500 in the MAC. Tough at home...If Can't wins this rivalry match up...akron's season is over early. Too many questions for Akron, but if Frye goes early in the Draft and plays in '05 look for Akron to garner more 2star + recruits, if and when their new campus stadium opens...but until then tougher attitude and coaching will occur.

Many in the MAC see and know of the dirty play by Akron's D...Akron will become the bad boys of the MAC East and Chryst will be forced to make a statement eventually... AKron will go Steeltown and try to imitate Blitzburgh attitude. Akron is a blue collar town, and adopting this attitude will win them fans locally...but not in the MAC. Akron's aim...beat MIAMI, and Embarass Can't St. They will fall short here...and OU will smack them in the face too. (Sorry 'Roos, but that's me picks)."

Arrogant Miami fan... as I recall the Redhawks hit Charlie late at least twice in this year's game!

Miami will come back down to earth soon. We were close to making that happen this year... but for a couple of mistakes and sporadic run D.. we play Toledo in MCC.

The point about Solich being the Savior in Athens is an interesting one. I recall reading all of the preseason rags last summer that said UCF would challenge for the east title because of their new high profile coach George O'Leary. Look where that got them. If OU is going to challenge next year they are going to need to get some more talent.

We've got OU early on right? I thought we were going be much tougher early last season, but it was pretty bad. All the talk of how great JD was going to be and it took most of the season till we were comfortable with the new system. I'm glad we've got OU early while they are still in trying to figure things out.

Frank Solich is to Ohio as....

Gerry Faust was to Akron.

Taking over for Brian Knorr and being 61 years old while working with a rookie staff ain't taking over for Tom Osborne with a veteran staff at Nebraska. Ohio is lucky to win 4 games next season.

Can't and Buffalo both will struggle, but keep an eye on the flushes who just got a great JUCO QB for the Doug Martin system.

Akron will win between 4-6 games max. The Zips should win the three home games we know about and could/should beat Ball State on the road BUT... Akron lost 4/5 of the OL with nobody behind them worth a damn and have a new QB. Add the defensive unit will be improved and perhaps eqaul to the offense. A 6-5 season in 2005 would be a great accomplishment with the inexperienced OL.

I do not see how Miami is toppled in the East in 2005 unless BGSU comes to the party and then the Falcons will reign this division for the forseeable future.
