Tailgating...the final pregame thread

There is a discrepancy between the Lot information mailed with my season tickets vs. the GoZips pdf. here http://www.gozips.com//pdf5/641139.pdf?DB_OEM_ID=10800. The mailer shows lot 73 (on Brown, adjacent to old softball field) coded blue as General Admission Parking. The pdf from GoZips shows coded yellow as Credential Parking available to Z-Fund members and season ticket holders with pre-purchased season pass. Anyone know what is going on here?p.s. Root, I would keep the keg conspicuously hidden, though well iced, based upon word of mouth. The deal is that drinking in the lots is technically illegal. But who knows, it may have been technically illegal at the Rubber Bowl too. Nobody knows exactly how things are going to shape up.

We need a thread just for last minute tailgating related things and questions. Where is everyone planning on setting up? What will you be cooking? What will you be drinking? Also, what is the final word on alcohol? I have a keg already bought, is it allowed or what?

My friends and I dont have a parking pass for the Z Fund lots so we figure the best place to tailgate (besides the parking decks) is the lot between Grant and Carroll streets (the biggest out door lot close to the Polymer building)

I believe that the consumption of alcohol is fine as long as you are of age. I was told by a close friend who has spoken to the police cheif and the word is that if the cops partrolling see alcohol, they will come over and make sure everyone in the area is of age. I could be wrong, but this generally seems like the practice that they will be enforcing. If you're underage... youll have to get a little more creative.

Going through my pre-Game Tailgating checklist. It's been a while since I've really needed it. Moved from Michigan about 2 years ago and most of my stuff was in storage or the kids prevented the tailgating. Listening to the University of Akron Marching Band on my Ipod while digging through boxes in the basement....AWESOME! I am so pumped right now! I'll get the final stuff at Giant Eagle tomorrow, and be ready to ROLL early on Saturday Morning! Plan to roll into Lot 34 around 9:00 AM. Probably won't be the first one there....hopefully I can get a spot!

Hey there Zips89, the parking garages will be the worst places to tailgate. You're not allowed any bbq grills there, only in the outside lots.p.s. frisbee or any ball playing is restricted to grass fields.

I saw the same thing about the parking. In terms of the keg, it will be in a kegerator so it wont be exposed and will be very cold

YES! That is where i will be as well. Club Baseball will be tailgating in that area. We have a few kegs and will have tons of food. Feel free to stop by and have some! Anyone else that wants to stop by feel free as well, we are trying to raise money for our upcoming season.Info

ya i know the garages are gonna suck. Lot 34 is where we are going. Do you really think they are going to enforce the playing ball on the grass rule? It just seems like something that would cover their ass if anything bad was to happen
