  1. You are right we haven't been good. We have had a record breaking season. Our offense is top 10, we are receiving AP votes and Coaches poll votes. Its been a great year after a lot of misery. And don't be so sure about how we will be after Kiffin leaves. We already have a $70 mil stadium that your fans will probably find to be a pretty good place to watch a game. We are getting ready to break ground on $50 mil academic/athletic center with indoor practice field. But the most important thing the Board of Trustees has opened the wallet to pay real salaries to our coaches. Kiffin is being paid just under a million (great value) and most importantly we are paying our assistant coaches the most in the conference. The last coaching hire was hindered by going on the cheap. Our president is from Clemson, and he wants a competitive football program. So no matter what happens with Kiffin, we have the proper financial support to sustain winning in one of the 3 best states to recruit football talent. We are excited about where we are after many years of misery and excited about the future. No arrogance at all.
  2. Sorry no offense. At first we were not happy about this matchup, through no fault of your own. We have been told for 3 years by our AD (who I believe should be fired) how we don't want to play in the Boca Bowl, we want two other teams playing in it to show case the campus and the university while 2 other teams are playing here. We then would play somewhere else and have another 3 hour commercial about FAU. Our AD is a sack of crap. But after some grumblings about this matchup most people are looking forward to the game.
  3. I was surprised as well. I think it was a combination of playing FIU (are big rivalry game) the week before and the anticipation of the championship game the following Saturday. I went to the game, we certainly played a lot more players than we normally play and the game was just sloppy. UNT had a similar game vs Rice, probably looking ahead like we were. Even with the sloppiness that was the 10th (eleven now after the championship game) straight game we scored 30 plus points.
  4. Well, I'm not surprised at your justification, knowing that you've already chosen to ignore the fact that you lost to Buffalo, and we beat them. Say whatever you want, but we've got 2 common opponents in the last year or so, and we've fared better against both of them. I am not telling you not to think your team is awesome. Why root for otherwise? But just saying if you are hanging your hats on us losing to Buffalo early in the season and we have been nothing but dominate ever since you are mistaken. We lost to Buffalo by 3. You won by 1. You won 3 games by 1; very close to being ineligible for the bowl. I am just re-butting your contention that you think you can keep up with us. This is a poor bowl matchup, not your fault. And to compare a common opponent you played last year is a HUGE stretch. Just so you know YES WE LOST TO BUFFALO. I am saying it is irrelevant. You can say it is relevant to your thesis of being competitive in this game. I think you guys are going to get trucked.
  5. Marshall had its worse season in about a decade last year. That team is as relevant to this years teams as our team is to last year.
  6. True, but your not playing us the week before Buffalo; Buffalo was that turning point game. Have one of your media guys ask Kiffin about the Buffalo game and he will say it was a game we shouldn't have loss and it still irritates them. It's not like you guys drilled Buffalo though a one point victory does not fall under the dominating curb stomping category.
  7. Everything you said is true accept the score wasn't as close as it appeared. Marshall was the toughest game we have played. They have a great defense, so if you are saying your defense is a top defense....then ok we may have trouble. But I looked at the yards you gave up vs Toledo and ypc...I think Singletary will get his 2,000 yards for the season.
  8. We score very fast, and time of possession doesn't seem to be a real concern with our coaches. From a fan stand point we literally get disappointed with a short field.
  9. I wouldn't say Buckeye-phobic but the scholarship cost is double for out of state students. With us being in a recruiting hotbed, it is very calculated when we go after a player out of state. Although that appears to be changing with Kiffin.
  10. 1) 100% The last big job was filled (Oregon, not that I thought there was a high probability, but there was a probability). His next job will be a premiere P5; he won't take a mid-tier P5. He can just wait it out in South Florida. 2) The same thing all the other G5 conferences will do. Viewership is down everywhere. A telling stat is the actual decline of student attendance in some P5's. Millenials don't seem to care about sports (traditional that is) like past generations. I would see more streaming as that what the young ones want to do. CUSA just happen to be the first that came up for renewal the rest of the G5 will be getting the slap when they are due to renew.
  11. I am not a twitter fan, but you can now see the genius of the 140 now 280 character limit. No short or succinct thoughts here!
  12. Trust me that Buffalo loss has nothing to do with how this team is now. It was the 4th game of the season, first start for Driskel at QB. The team was still finding its way under a new coaching staff. If you are hanging your hopes on the Buffalo loss as to why we are some flawed team you will be mistaken. We will beat you buy a similar score if not more than Toledo. You won't be able to stop our running game and Driskel is now capable of putting up 350+ yards passing.
  13. No not really, but we had a great season. Re-wrote our record book. We will be the best G-5 team you have faced.
  14. The Boca Raton Renaissance is closer to campus (there's a lot of hotels in the area). They have a FAU Alumni discount you just tell them Boca Raton Bowl Fan Block and you get the rate of $169. Need to book by 12/11. 1-800-321-0472. Nice hotel. Check out the Bowl rates for PGA Resort though that is a world class facility.
  15. Palm Beach Gardens.
  16. Yes...PGA Resort will be Akron's team hotel. Bring your clubs! FAU will be at the Boca Raton Resort (Kiffin has a membership, maybe that played into it?).
