Yep. #2 doesn't look so bad other than would need a loss to PCCC to get it. Hobson's Choice
I, personally, do not think we will be able to beat OU again.. They're the team that will cause the most disruption in Cleveland.

Yikes! It's almost certain we will have to face OU or Toledo in Cleveland.
-
Hopefully the game is on Reddit because I don't have CBSSN. 77-75 Zips.
-
This is the lineup I wanted to see.

I don't understand why Akron refuses to drive the basketball. LCJ is a phenomenal finisher around the rim, Cheese is a dominant slasher, and Williams is a 6'10 forward with a much better mid/close range than 3 point game. Yet, the zips continue to fire up a 3 ball (5 for 35) against BGSU and--going 1 of 9 to start the game--against Miami. It's frustrating because I went to the BGSU game when it was here and they pounded the hell out of the ball established pressure down low and had the falcons at their mercy. They completely abandoned that strategy this time around and the result was clear.
If you look at our losses we always have something to point too. Not being able to finish against Kent, bad rebounding against Buffalo, and not shooting the 3 ball well against BGSU. Then the Toledo loss which, (in my opinion), we couldn't have played better. I think if the zips ran a more balanced offense and didn't depend on the 3 ball; stressed defensive rebounding and played their best bigs; we would only have lost to Toledo in conference play. I think we are still the best and most complete team when we play the game our way.

82-80 Zips

As we anxiously await tomorrow’s game, I wanted to pose the question, who would be your all-MAC first team if conference play ended today?
Mine would be as follows: (there is no right answer)
G: LCJ
G: Justin Turner
F: Cheese
F: Teague (big from Ball State)
F: Whittington or Knapke
What do you guys think?

I would like to see a lineup with Jaden and Reece/Riak.. play big ball and dominate the paint against these guys. #20 is becoming a liability on offense
-
Jaden is our best center

Let's go zips! Should be another ass-whooping 74-55 UA

Best 5'8" player in the country.

Time to sub out Jayden. He's looking good.

Should be an ass-whooping. We're the better team and if they can stop #12 it should be smooth sailing. I watched Akron play WMU at the JAR. I thought Akron played a sub-par game, however, they still walked away with a win and the team is much improved from early January.

They're an okay team. They can be a pretty decent team when they're able to dictate pace. They become extremely exposed offensively and defensively when they have to play a half court game. Toure absolutely destroyed them last game as they had no answer. It's why I said earlier in the thread that Reece may have a big day.
That's the consensus I've arrived at as well. The zips need to win, handily, and keep their positive momentum going. If they can beat BG the way they did, logically, they should be able to roll this team.

Is this Chipps team any good? Their record doesn't indicate so with a loss to Valpariso by 22.

I must give credit where credit is due and (in my opinion) Deng did a hell of a job protecting the bucket tonight!

Idk.. Pull a tall kid off the football team. I'm sure Deng is good at a lot of things, however, he just looks lost on the court. Maybe play small, if you're getting out rebounded by 21 with your big on the court maybe that's a sign to try something different
Or sayles..

What's the alternative? Reece played 15-20 and had 1 rebound.

I just can't pathom how you can be a division one collegiate athlete and get out rebounded astronomically, have a 29.5 inch basketball go through your hands time after time, and set illegal screens (he can't even stand still right). But yet he still starts.. it's baffling
