    Edit: others know who we are and recognize us as a solid mid-major opponent and potential trap game.

     

    After YSU a lot of people were really down. While we have not played any top tier opponents yet, we do seem to be coming together. They show some flashes of stuff we have not seen in years. I am going out on a limb here and saying that we have a real shot on Saturday, and for sure a shot at another MAC Championship game. This year we are NOT small and we are NOT slow. We just need to be GOOD.

  15. Bowl eligibility?

    So I want to see if I understand this, if not please correct:

     

    We have 4 remaining games. Win one we are guaranteed to go .500 for the year and are ELIGIBLE for a bowl bid.

    Win two and we PROBABLY get a bowl bid.

    Win three out of four and are GUARANTEED a bowl bid.

     

    If this is not the case, please explain how this all works.

     

    (Also, it is possible we could go to the MAC championship game, lose, be under .500 and not bowl eligible???)

    Actually, maybe these celebrations of anniversaries is a good idea, and should happen more often, simply to educate our students and younger fans of our history.  Heck, people who are students at Akron right now likely don't even know that we won a MAC title in 2005.  We should be educating and reminding them of all of our sports accomplishments from the past.  I think it helps them connect with our athletic programs.  That's why we should have placed that Heisman Statue in a place where our students walk every day.    

     

    2018 the 50th anniversary of our other bowl game.
