RE: Groce's OU squads. They ate Dambrot's lunch. We didn't find success against Groce's squad until he left and Jim Christian took over the same group of guys.
I could be wrong, but I remember those Zips doing pretty well vs. OU.
I recall Dambrot being quoted that OU's style was "loosie goosy" haha, and that OU fans seemingly agreeing with that assessment. But I thought that was an interesting juxtaposition. Like we had Dambrot's very controlled system vs. Groce's much more fluid and much less-structured approach to the game.

Good grief the refs just completely jobbed Central Michigan on a tremendous play by their TE. Obvious touchdown on review but they stick with their initial bad call. Ball is spotted on the 1 and Central, without their big RB can't punch it in...ouch....turnover on downs.

Morehead looked catatonic after seeing that perfectly drawn up dropped pass to Wiley. Should have been at TD.
We just aren't good enough to overcome those kinds of mistakes.

1. Awful spot on Undercuffler run, but Jeff was a (insert Jeff Undercuffler getting ejected clip here) for going down so soon.
2. BUBBA!
3. Can someone fix the audio issues? The dog whistle sound needs to go.
Holy cow I thought I was going crazy....I had no idea where that was coming from lol.

You may not be the only person that doesn't bet on sports, but I'm pretty sure your the only person who lives at a bar that doesn't bet on sports. You can bet that I couldn't handle living at a bar; the lack of privacy would drive me crazy.
You um, are maybe taking my post out of context....but on second thought maybe I'm spending wayyy too much time at the bar hahah.
You see I work remotely and some of these bars have really good wifi......

3 of the 4 MAC schools on tonight have sub .500 records. The other is 4-4. This is great exposure for the league.
Well, people at the bar where I live don't care. They just want to watch football.
Or rather they bet on the games lol. I sometimes wonder if I'm the only person that doesn't bet on sports.

Watched a chunk of the 2nd half of OU vs. Buffalo. I now have some hopes Akron can beat Buffalo.
Man that QB for OU can sling it. On the other side Buffalo sure seemed determined to dig a deep hole lol.
Love MACtion!!!!

75% chance to win or whatever that espn stat tracker was
Exactly why I never trust that crap. analytics can kiss my ass
Apparently the tracker did not see the OSU game lol.
Yeah we are all tired of the moral victories but hey, I'm so glad our Kangaroos showed up and played pretty darn well on the big stage.
Excited for next year.

Yeah, that scared me too. Brought back memories of the 3-3-5!
Oh yes. Such vivid and glorious memories of the "bend and then break" defense haha.

I only listen to satellite radio, and always have way too much food at my tailgates… so it wouldn’t help me. But if it brought Joe Akron back from the dead I’m all for it.

The only radio station presence is the vapid and grating Keith Kennedy. Banishing him would be a good first step.
I don't know who that is, but he sounds great haha.
I mean, how hard would it be to convince Ken Carmen to come down? He often has a national audience for his shows on Saturdays.

Ken Carman, a Perry High School and University of Akron graduate, started his love for sports radio while delivering papers around Canton at 11. His first job in the broadcasting world was hosting Friday Night Football, eventually working his way up to hosting his own show in Akron. Carman is a veteran play by play commentator, broadcasting area college sports and Akron Aeros Baseball on radio and television....

More of a privilege than a right to post on here.
They need to rebrand the entire football program and game day experience.
Have the sports radio stations ever been invited to broadcast from the stadium on game days? I think their mere presence would be good for game day, and help get us more on the radar.
Also: food trucks.

Our band would play the Europe Gyro in Kent and get paid via free dinner and a pitcher of beer.
None of us complained.

College football fan forums never cease to amaze me. You got a great new coach, but are focused on a secondary logo. Take the weekend and enjoy the gift you just got.
Gift? You're talking to someone who has given maybe 100k to this university and after 30+ years of sports-related horrors I'll bitch and complain about whatever I want!!!!

I think we all need to message Guthrie and let him know this needs to happen. He seems to really care about what the fans want. If we're annoying enough about it maybe he'll make the switch.
Agree. Script Akron is fine on a shirt or whatever, but no way should that be our primary logo.

Personally, I do not like the Roo. But in reality, I can live with anything. I will let all you hens on this forum talk about the uniforms and logos. I just want a smash mouth football team that wins the MAC and is competitive in OOC games. I feel like I am in high school with Suzy saying, did you see what Mary is wearing? C'mon, let's worry about football.
Are you from the 1920's?

I still like the Brookhart, Moorehead, Getsy etc. group. They couldn't play much D consistently but that offense was humming.
Who instituted that disastrous 3-3-5 scheme?
Man that was so hard to watch our D constantly bend, bend and then break lol.

"We Americans make so much off of China"?
More like its the other way around.
Those counties make a fortune off of us
We are also in debt to china currently owing them $1.1 trillion
Okay virtually every storeowner in America is selling Chinese made products.
How about we start a new thread someplace?

Rooting for a school located in the former rubber capital of the world that use to be loaded with companies that outsourced their jobs overseas
Hmmm wonder why they did that?
But yeah lets single out Nike
Yeah that makes perfect sense
Every company tied to China is complicit in the horrors there. We Americans make so much off of China, Saudi Arabia etc we are all hypocrites to some extent, I’m afraid. We need to talk about this stuff.
Anyhow it’s kinda shocking to lose this badly today. Here’s hoping we can get things going in the right direction. We are ag or near an all time low and I hate this.

Yes, the Pass 'n Pitch with Marcel Weems, IIRC.
I remember getting free beers once in Pittsburgh...was visiting NJ friends at Pitt and wearing my Akron garb. The bartender was friends with Weems and made us feel right at home haha.
That being said I sorta remember Akron’s offense looking good running the misdirection and the delay. Heck, San Diego State is freaking anemic at passing and they’re a top 20 program.

I wanna know how many figured Bowden was gonna be hired? I can tell you someone on the selection committee at the time , who has since retired from the law school had no idea Bowden would end up being hired. Point? Don't assume anybody knows who the alleged leading candidates are at this point.
Prof. Jamison?

Don't forget there's a TV market size aspect somewhere in all of this craziness. Houston is top ten and Cincy is 30-ish.
