  1. Heads up Zips Nation! Akron has sold out of their ticket allotment! If you have not got your tickets, call Can't State ticket office and they will have them at will call for you.Fear this?? Nice job Can't Football! I guess the consultant you hired was not able to help you much with recruiting! Worst in the MAC!
  2. Poor Can't.. they are out of original ideas. I am not sure if any of you noticed in the Beacon the add for Can't upcoming basketball games (Mens and Womens) but at the bottom of the add it said "Fear this"...I wonder what frssh ideas the football consultant has brought? Things are pretty bad when an article mentions you are starting to turn the corner because a verbal de-committed and is now going to Michigan State.
  3. I would agree.. I don't think the WR loss to OU will kill the class. From what I am hearing this class is shaping up to be the #1 class in the MAC again.I know rivals and scouts are listing 8 or 9 verbals, a campus source told me that the actual number is close to 13 as we head to Feb 1st. My source also said they are in a couple recruiting battles for 3 star recruits that is probably going to come down to signing day.
  4. If you have any downtown, I would encourage some of you to wander over to bobcatattack.comThe Cats fans seem to be allllllll worried about the Bubba situation. Also, they are posting a lot of smack regarding Tuesday nights game. For those of you that have not heard the game will be televised on ONN.
  5. The University of Akron will interview four candidates for its vacant soccer coaching position this week, a university source said Saturday. The list of candidates to replace Ken Lolla includes: Notre Dame assistant Mike Avery, Indiana assistant Caleb Porter, California assistant Brad Agoos and Pennsylvania assistant Bob Butehorn. All four men will meet with Zips athletic officials and each will spend an hour with the team. Former Zips assistant and potential candidate Mario Sanchez has accepted the coaching position at UNLV.Agoos won three NCAA titles as a player at Virginia and has a wealth of pro playing experience. His brother, Jeff, played for the U.S. national team. Porter played at Indiana and was an assistant on back-to-back NCAA titles (2003-04).Butehorn was a head coach at St. Bonaventure and an assistant at Maryland. Avery was a head coach at Cal State-San Bernardino before joining the Irish staff. After leading the Zips to the NCAA round of eight
  6. Word from a campus contact is that the Zips also received a verbal from Wayne Cobham a safety/cb from Flordia. I have not had a chance yet to look up his info on rivals or scout. He graduated early from high school and will be enrolled this sping semester.
  7. Sad day it is... My source on campus told be informed the team on Monday of the decision. For those of you wondering, UA did offer to match the $$$. As previously mentioned, a lot had to do with the MAC overall in relation to the NCAA tourney. After the year they had, Coach was disappointed and felt slighted to get a #9 seed. After the year they had this year, how could you ever expect to get anything higher then a #9 seed as a member of the MAC. I am still in shock, as to his departure. Look for the word to get out to the media very soon.
